About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Promotr ("Promotr", "we"). They apply when you create an account, buy tickets, or use promotr.ca. By doing any of these, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.

If you organize events, host a venue, perform, promote or work events through Promotr, you also accept the agreement shown when you set that up.

Your account

  • You must be 18 or older and give accurate information.
  • Keep your sign-in details private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • One person per account. Don't create accounts to get around limits, bans or event caps.
  • You can delete your account at any time from your account page.

Who runs the event

Each event is run by its organizer, who is named on the event page. The organizer is responsible for the event itself: holding it, its line-up, entry rules, age limits, safety and the venue. Promotr runs the ticketing platform and processes your payment.

Buying tickets

  • Prices shown on Promotr include all fees. Sales tax is added at checkout and shown before you pay.
  • Your order is confirmed when we email your tickets. If payment fails or the event sells out first, you are not charged.
  • Organizers may set limits on how many tickets one person can buy. Orders made with bots, or to get around limits, may be cancelled and refunded.
  • If an event has a minimum age, you confirm at checkout that every ticket holder meets it. Bring ID; the venue can refuse entry without it.

Refunds, cancellations and changes

  • Cancelled events: you are refunded in full, including fees, automatically.
  • Postponed or moved events: if the organizer changes the date, time or venue, we email you the new details and a link to request a full refund instead.
  • Other refunds are up to the organizer. You can request one from your tickets page. On a refund approved for any other reason, the platform service fee may be non-refundable.
  • Refunds go back to the card or wallet you paid with.
  • Nothing in these terms limits refund rights you have under consumer protection law.

Using your tickets

  • Each ticket has a code that can be scanned once. Keep it private; whoever shows it first gets in.
  • You can transfer tickets for public shows to someone else for free from the ticket's page, up to 1 hour before the show starts, unless the organizer has turned transfers off. Reselling tickets above face value, or for profit, is not allowed on Promotr and may get the tickets cancelled.
  • Venues and organizers can refuse entry or remove people for safety, conduct or the venue's rules. That alone does not entitle you to a refund.

What you can't do

  • Break the law, or post anything unlawful, hateful, harassing or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Send spam, or use people's details from Promotr for anything other than the event they relate to.
  • Scrape Promotr, interfere with it, test its security without our written permission, or use automated tools to buy tickets.
  • Pretend to be someone else, or list events you have no right to run.

We may remove content, cancel orders made in breach of these terms, or suspend accounts that break them.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you post, such as photos, event descriptions and profiles. You let us show it on Promotr and in our emails and listings, as long as it is on Promotr.

Our responsibility

We work to keep Promotr available and accurate, but it is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for the event itself, for what organizers, venues or other users do, or for indirect losses. Where we are responsible, our total liability for an order is limited to what you paid for it.

None of this limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new date and, for significant changes, email account holders before they take effect. Orders already placed keep the terms that applied when you bought.

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, unless the consumer law of the province you live in says otherwise. Questions: support@promotr.ca, Promotr, 323 Governors Ct, New Westminster, BC V3L 5S6.
